Thanks, Jo McGuire, also from Ireland, for sending the photo and sending Marina’s kind words about Secrets and Shamrocks. How exciting it is to know that I get a thumbs-up from readers in Ireland !

Attempting to reveal the secrets of “Plotting the Perfect Mystery.” Still a secret but we had fun trying.

Please join me at these events!

Please put Sunday, April 9, 2:00 p.m. on your calendar!
I will be at Parnassus Bookstore. Join me at this charming venue to visit with other writers and readers, enjoy some shamrock cookies, and talk about Secrets and Shamrocks. I am interested to hear your comments. I will read a couple of excerpts and answer your questions.

It’s that time again! Writers of mystery, thrillers, crime – everything related – look forward to this weekend in August. Dates this year are August 25-27. I am on a panel about true crime, talking about An Unfinished Canvas and A Season of Darkness, books I co-authored that followed two high-profile crimes in Nashville. Conference information is available at www.killernashville.com if you’re interested in the full schedule.

Fun! Thanks to all who came inside on such a beautiful spring day.
My first audiobook!
“Lost Innocence” was a narrative I wrote for an anthology of true crime stories in the Twentieth Century. My story tells of the Marcia Trimble murder, which shook Nashville to its core in 1975 and was not solved for more than three decades.
The tragic story appears in its entirety in A Season of Darkness (Berkley, 2009), co-authored with Doug Jones. The abbreviated version, along with more than a dozen true crime stories, appears in Masters of True Crime (Prometheus, 2012).
It was exciting to hear the reading on the audiobook!
