WriterFest

I love events where creative people come together and inspire each other. WriterFest weekend at Belmont University was that kind of event, a gathering of writers, aspiring writers, literary agents, editors, and others in the publishing industry. Thanks to Ami McConnell and the team who made it a great success!

My agent, Mary Elizabeth Colton, and I have a good time talking about “Writing from Life.”

I had fun hanging out with Mary Bess Dunn. Here we’re with literary agent Danielle Marshall.

The Amazing Dickson Ladies Literary Society

The Dickson Ladies Literary Society has been going strong for more than 60 years. A few days ago I had the pleasure of joining about 30 lovely ladies who were reading Prodigal, and what a great time I had with them. They meet at the Clement Railroad Museum and Hotel. That in itself was such a pleasure. I want to go back and spend more time in the historic downtown of Dickson!

Centennial Club

After a wild night of storms in Nashville, this room was still full on Thursday at noon when I spoke to the Centennial Club ladies about Prodigal. Such an honor to be invited! What a thrill to sign the guest book along with signatures from many years past – Robert Frost and Amelia Earhart to name a few!

Parnassus came to the Centennial Club and sold books. These that are left went back to Parnassus.

If you’re thinking of reading Prodigal, please buy it from Parnassus!

Christmas at the Museum

The Wayne County Museum is one of Waynesboro’s best-kept little secrets! I was happy to be invited there on December 7, the day of the annual Christmas parade, billed as a “Small Town Christmas.” Vendors set up booths and tents on the square – all very festive – and inside the museum, I talked about my new book, Prodigal. The novel is about a young man trying to come home to the small town he left ten years earlier, and face his past. Thanks to all who came buy to visit and buy books!
