Layne Martine Visits Our Writers Group

Layne Martine and his wife, Linda

Our Tuesday night writers group was honored with a visit from Layne Martine, talking about his new book, Permission to Fly.

Reading the book was a treat. Meeting Layne was an inspiration. He talked about life, love, family, writing, and songwriting. He talked about making mistakes and learning from them. He talked about never giving up, never letting life get you down.

There are reviews on Amazon and Goodreads that give more details about the book. I’ll just say it’s a must-read. Filled with humor and wisdom, it’s about real love and – I guess I would say – real happiness.

Thank you, Layng, for a wonderful book and a delightful evening!

Killer Nashville 2019

Killer Nashville logo

Killer Nashville is always a great conference. I’ll be on two panels (writing cozies and creating conflict) and hope to catch a couple of other panels on writing. I’ll get to pitch my novel-in-progress. Saturday night is the Awards banquet. The keynote speaker for this conference is Joyce Carol Oates! So excited!

First Draft Interview

Thank you, Susan Van Kirk, for interviewing me for First Draft, the newsletter that goes to the Sisters in Crime Guppies. Guppies used to stand for the Great Unpublished, but many people in the group are published. Most are mystery writers.

Check out the interview.

Beta Sigma Phi Conference

What a great organization and wonderful group of women – these members of Beta Sigma Phi. I was so honored to be their guest speaker. They donate to many worthy causes and are simply amazing women!

My friend Jo Smith from Nashville State, who invited me to the conference.
What a privilege to be their guest speaker!
